Tasting the Hudson Valley: Farmers’ Markets to Visit This Fall

Roasted squash, creamy root-vegetable soups, and hearty artichokes crisped in the pan are just a few of the delicious fall dishes that pepper Hudson Valley tables in the much-anticipated autumn season. Many markets follow seasonal schedules ending in early to mid-fall, and we’ve put together a list of must-visits for the last experience of local outdoor markets before the first snow falls. 


Hudson Farmers Market 

Saturday’s from 9 am to 12:30 pm

Last Day: Oct. 5th


The Hudson Farmers Market sets up for the last time in 2019 in just a couple of weeks - so make sure to check out the best of delicious local produce, meats, cheeses, and floral arrangements as soon as you can! Check out their list of vendors here


Great Barrington Farmers Market 

Saturday’s from 9 am to 1 pm 

Open through the end of October


Though not technically in the Hudson Valley, Great Barrington’s farmers market has certainly been an excellent resource for the best of Massachusetts and New York farm-fresh food for the 29 years it has been operating. Read more about their extensive selection of vendors here

Woodstock Farm Festival

Wednesday’s from 3:30 pm until dusk

Last Day: October 16th 


Get in a taste of local food and live music at Woodstock’s Farm Festival before it closes its doors for the season in mid-October. You’ll find Bread Alone Bakery, Catskill Fungi, Northwind Farm’s, and Aaron Burr Cidery among their list of 2019 participating vendors

Kingston’s Outdoor Farmer’s Market

Saturday’s from 9 am to 2 pm 

Last Day: November 23rd


Kingston offers both an outdoor farmer’s market and an indoor one; so, you get access year-round to delicious local goodies!

Rhinebeck Farmer’s Market

Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm 

Last Day: December 28th


A staple in Dutchess County, the Rhinebeck Farmer’s market opens in early May of every year and continues to operate up until the end of the year. Keep your calendar open for October 6th, when Chef Kroner from Terrapin Restaurant is visiting the market for their Kid’s Taste and Talk event!


Copake Hillsdale Farmer’s Market

Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm 

Last Day: October 26th
